Kodiak Awarded MassHighway Emergency Bridge Repair Contract

Kodiak Corporation was recently awarded an on-call contract from MassHighway for emergency bridge repairs in the Essex County for a second consecutive year. Kodiak is responsible for not only construction, but also coordination of subcontractors, including steel prefabricators and engineering for demolition, erection, structural design, and temporary traffic management. Bridge repair locations to date have included: the John Greenleaf Whittier Bridge (I-95) over the Merrimack River in Newburyport, MA (pictured); Route 28 over the MBTA RR in Andover, MA; and Salem Street over the MBTA RR in Lawrence, MA.

Union Crossing Redevelopment

Lawrence, MA

TEC is providing planning, permitting, site and structural design services for the Union Crossing redevelopment of a 5.6 acre historic mill property. The redevelopment will convert the existing site into a mixed-use development consisting of residential, commercial, and warehouse space, and a new day care center. The project proposes renovating the existing mill buildings and associated parking area, utilities, and site features. The project includes improved pedestrian connection via an elevated pedestrian promenade and green deck that allow for parking and circulation beneath, new retaining walls, and an improved stormwater management plan which combines conventional and low impact development (LID) best management practices (BMPs) to provide optimal treatment.
