Structural Engineering Support - Cole Haan

Winter 2008 - Boston, MA

TEC is a structural sub-consultant to Callison Architects for the complete renovation of the Cole Haan retail store located on Newbury Street in Boston, MA. The work includes the design and detailing of proposed modifications to the first and second floor framing plans including a newly proposed floor opening and steel framing to accommodate the relocation of the existing basement and first floor stairs.

Market Basket Store #30

Winter 2008 - Gloucester, MA

TEC is performing an independent structural engineering review of the proposed 60,000SF Market Basket store in Gloucester, MA. The review will be performed in accordance with the requirements of The Commonwealth of Massachusetts State Building Code, 780 CMR, 6th Edition. TEC’s responsibilities include verifying that design loads, criteria and assumptions conform to 780 CMR and are in accordance with accepted engineering practice. TEC will also review geotechnical investigations and results, foundation and framing plans and details, and perform independent calculations to verify member sizes. A summary report of the review will be prepared for submittal to the building official.

Amesbury Street Bridge over the North Canal

Fall 2008 - Lawrence, MA

TEC acted as Structural Engineers responsible for providing Contractor designed submittals for the superstructure replacement of a single span concrete bridge over the North Canal in Lawrence, MA.  Work included demolition procedures designed to protect the existing canal during construction operations.  All work was coordinated through the canal owners, Enel North America, and MassHighway.

M.J. O’Connor’s Restaurant & Pub / City Bar – Westin Hotel Seaport

Summer 2008 - Boston, MA

TEC is currently providing structural engineering services for this new restaurant and pub in the Westin Hotel in Boston’s Seaport District. Tasks will include a new front entrance, slab opening for mechanical equipment and other interior framing modifications. Design will be in accordance with the Mass Building Code, 6th edition. TEC will coordinate work with the architect, construction managers, and contractors.

Structural Engineering Support – Trinity Financial

Summer 2008 - Lowell, MA

Revere Street BridgeTEC provided structural engineering support acting as a technical reference for assisting Trinity Financial in the development of a Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) for the rehabilitation and construction of new roadway and bridge infrastructure to support the proposed $800 million Hamilton Canal District development project. Services included developing bridge type concepts, design alternatives, constructability concerns, and other structural assessments.
